I thought about setting up a writing blog but thought why? I'm not published why would anyone want to read it? But I've been giving people advice and sharing updates on twitter so why not? I can share advice and use it to be accountable. I thought about keeping my writing separate from my book reviewing, writing is always a secret in my life from most people who know me but it's time to say "I'm a writer" at least on here. And if I have an entire blog about writing I'll spend more time blogging about writing than writing.
So to start off this new page I'm going to be brave for a change and tell everyone about my writing:
Ever since I was in year 3 of Primary School I've wanted to be a writer. I'm working on it.
Despite all those years of wanting to be a writer I don't have much to show for it. One paid for writing course, a free futurelearn writing course and a course I was given for free after winning a writing competition. Oh, a lot of pages and pages and files of unfinished stories and novels. Books on writing.
Although:
I won a writing competition ages ago, you can find my story here http://bridgendwriters.webplus.net/opencompwinners.html
Looking at this is a reminder of how long ago it was! 2015!
I write mainly odd stories, no matter what I write it ends up being odd. Except for that competition I won, 'Georges' Bridge' was normal.
I need to be more productive and get more stories finished.
Goals: Finish 10 first drafts of short stories by the end of the year (be even better if they are rewritten!) and start a new project very soon.
Well, that's all for now. Happy Reading and Happy Writing and be brave.
